Qi Gong
Gentle energy cultivation through mindful posture
Qi Gong combines slow, deliberate postures with natural breathing. Here we describe accessible exercises and short routines that readers can explore at their own pace.
Key practices
Exercises and breathing for everyday practice

Standing posture
Relax the shoulders, soften the knees, and let the arms rest in a gentle circle. Breathe naturally while the weight settles.

Flowing arm movements
Move the arms slowly in coordination with inhalation and exhalation, keeping the motion smooth and the attention on the hands.

Natural breathing
Let the breath deepen without forcing it. Lower the belly gently on each exhale and keep the rhythm calm and even.
Short routines
Five-minute routines for morning and evening
A brief sequence can fit easily into the start or end of the day. Choose two or three postures, repeat them slowly, and finish with a few quiet breaths.
Morning: stand, breathe, and move the arms gently to wake the body. Evening: sit or stand, lower the shoulders, and let each exhale release the tension of the day.

Routines are best kept simple and repeatable. Practise at home or outdoors, and return to the same short sequence whenever it helps.
